Who we are
Maïté le Polain is a PhD researcher in Development Studies at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Work, State and Society (Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche Travail, État et Société, CIRTES) of the Université catholique de Louvain. She holds a MSc in economics from the Economic School of Louvain. I Her PhD thesis is devoted to the institutional analysis of informal savings and credit associations in Africa (ROSCA and ASCA) and the role of international NGOs in the promotion and diffusion of particular models (Mutuelles de solidarité, Village Savings and Credit Association, etc.). More generally, her research interests include development theories and collective action theories.
